PAC Board of Directors

Michelle Knowles has been a family nurse practitioner for 28 years working in western Kansas.
She has been involved in improving APRN practice legislation for over twenty years.

She was invited by the Kansas State Nurse’s Association to start working towards FPA in 2006. From 2008-2018 she served as the Kansas AANP Representative and continued to work on
legislation. Michelle is an AANP Fellow and has been invited by AANP through the years to
participate in work groups updating the FPA definition and on the AANP L.E.A.D.S. (Legislative,
Education, Advocacy and Development for States) program.

She served on the KAPN Strategy Team that succeeded in passing Full Practice Authority in Kansas. She has received the AANP State NP Award and the Excellence in Nursing Award from the Deputy Secretary of the VA for the Robert Dole VA Facility.

Michelle is currently the president of the KAPN-PAC.

Holly is a Family Nurse Practitioner who resides in Topeka. She is Co-owner/Co-founder of Oasis Family Medicine, a Direct Primary Care Clinic established in 2015. She is passionate about providing exceptional patient care without the standard red tape found in many large healthcare systems. 

Holly served on the KAPN Board of Directors, Vice-President 2019-2021. She was honored to work side by side with KAPN members and ARPN champions as our members and supporters worked diligently to help pass independent practice in Kansas!

In the Fall of 2018, she completed the official paperwork to start this political action committee, which is affiliated with Kansas Advanced Practice Nurses Association. She hopes members will advocate for APRN's by contributing to KAPN-PAC.

She is the 2022 Alumni Fellow for Washburn University School of Nursing. She is graduate member of the Leadership Kansas program. She serves of the Board of Directors for Race Against Breast Cancer.

Holly loves being an APRN, and also loves family & friends, dogs, fitness, and Diet Dr. Pepper.
